Then we have the event for you! Studiebyen, inventors of the Love Guarantee, and researchers at NTNU are teaming up to offer free speed-dating events in spring 2009: your chance to meet lots of like-minded singles.

Students: if you have exams that day, please don't sign up just 'in case' you will be prepared enough nearer the time and might be able to take part - consider whether you really will make it to the event! When someone cancels at the last minute, the booking system has been blocked to other people who would genuinely be able to attend. As these are the last events of the year, we would like to achieve a full turn-out...

 

How does it work?You meet c. 20 different people in one evening, and chat to them for 3 minutes each. After that, it's up to you: if you both decide you want to meet again, we'll send you each other's email addresses shortly afterwards.

What’s on offer?Café Lyche (Samfundet) are hosting the event – a cosy place to hang out. To keep you mingling and in romantic mood, every participant will receive a free cinema ticket on us at the end of the evening. From midnight Lyche’s doors will be thrown open to the public - invite your friends along and continue the party!

Why is it for free?We are a group of researchers based at NTNU who are interested in studying how people choose their partners. Participation is easy – during the event we ask you to fill out simple questionnaires with your impressions of the evening. Since you'll be providing us with valuable data, we run our speed-dating service completely for free. Other companies will charge you 400 kr or more just to register.

Note:Please sign up for only one speed-date. We would like to give as many people as possible the chance to take part in our events. It is also important for our research project that different participants are used in every event. For the same reason, please do not sign up if you have already participated in one of our previous speed-dates in 2008 or 2009.
